Moyes Admits Pienaar Could Be Sold In January
Everton boss David Moyes admits he may have to sell Steve Pienaar in the January transfer window to bring in funds for new players.
Pienaar is out of contract at the end of the season and looks set to leave Goodison Park after failing to agree terms on a new deal. Spurs and Inter Milan are said to be interested and Moyes admits Pienaar could leave for a fee next month rather than let him go for nothing in the summer.
“It may well come to it in the January transfer window that we have to consider selling Pienaar to raise money,” said Moyes after Saturday’s goalless draw with Wigan.
“We need a striker but realistically the sort of money we will raise through that route, what type of player is it going to buy us? It is probably a reality we will have to look at bringing in a loan player.”
Meanwhile, Victor Anichebe has turned down a new deal and has been given a take-it-or-leave-it ultimatum by the club. The 22-year-old’s current £13,000-a-week deal expires in the summer and he has rejected a new deal said to be worth £20,000 a week rising to £30,000 a week on appearances. Officials at Everton are said to be angry at Anichebe’s rejection as injuries and fitness problems have restricted him to just 12 appearances since February of last year.
Anichebe is free to speak to a foreign club in January, though Everton would only be entitled to compensation of around £700,000 as he is under 24. The player was booed when he came on as a substitute on Saturday.

Bayern Eye Up Bid for Baines
Bayern Munich are watching Everton full-back Leighton Baines and are ready to make an offer in the New Year, according to the Sunday People.
The German giants sent two scouts to watch Baines play for the Toffees in their game with Wigan yesterday and could be set to make a bid when the transfer window reopens.
Everton boss David Moyes would want around £10 million for Baines and while he is a player he is reluctant to let go Moyes has little to spend in January and money from the sale of Baines could be used to strengthen the squad.
There have been reports this weekend that Everton are keen on bringing central defender Joleon Lescott back to the club in January less than 18 months after selling him to Manchester City for £24 million. Lescott has been told he can leave Eastlands in January and while Everton are keen to bring him back to Goodison he is said to be looking at a move to a London club. Spurs and Chelsea are ahead of Everton in the queue.

Everton Kranjcar Bid Set To Fail
Everton’s bid to sign Spurs’ Niko Kranjcar looks set to fall at the first hurdle as the Merseyside club struggles under financial restrictions.
The Croat is set to leave White Hart Lane in January and both Everton and Liverpool are among the clubs said to be interested. Everton want to do a loan deal but despite Spurs’ loan fee of around £3 million it appears that is beyond Everton’s means at the moment.
The club have debts of around £40 million and were restricted to outlay of less than £3 million during the summer.
Bayern Munich and Newcastle are also said to be interested in Kranjcar.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Steven Pienaar is ready to sign a pre-contract agreement with Inter Milan in January. The South African has rejected a new £55,000-a-week deal at Goodison Park and with his contract set to expire in the summer he is free to speak to a foreign club in January.

No Everton Loan For Beckham
David Beckham has ruled out a loan move to Everton this winter.
The 35-year-old LA Galaxy midfielder, currently in Switzerland as part of the England 2018 World Cup bidding team, was linked with a loan move to Goodison during the MLS close season but says there’s no chance of him pulling on an Everton shirt.
“It’s always great to be wanted, whether it’s on loan or a permanent deal,” Beckham told Sky Sports News.
“I’ve got great respect for David Moyes having played for him at Preston. He’s done an amazing job at Everton but I’m a Manchester United fan — it’s too close to home.”
However, a deal for Beckham’s Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan could be on the cards, depending on his fitness. The US star is also in Switzerland trying to promote his country’s bid to host the 2022 World Cup. When asked whether a spell on Merseyside was on the cards Donovan responded:
“I want to go back to Everton – how could I not after last time? But I have to be responsible to my body. I would say it is 50-50 at the moment. I have had two weeks off and if my body feels better I would say there is a good chance, but if I still feel tired then we will have to see.”
Everton Keen On Striker Janko
Everton boss David Moyes is said to be keen on FC Twente’s Austrian striker Marc Janko.
The 27-year-old only joined Twente in June and has played 21 games for the Dutch champions scoring six goals. A move so early on in his career would be a surprise for a player who signed a four-year contract in the summer and reportedly cost between 4 million and 7 million euros. Janko previously played for Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.
Blackburn Rovers are also said to be keen on Janko who would command a transfer fee of at least £5 million.

Everton Offer Beckham Premier League Loan Return
Everton Offer Beckham Loan Move
Everton have offered David Beckham the chance of a loan move to the Premier League. The MLS season has ended for the 35-year-old former England captain, who has spent the last two American close seasons at AC Milan, and Everton boss David Moyes, who played alongside Beckham when Beckham had a loan spell at Preston when he was 19.
Beckham is also close to Everton skipper Phil Neville, with whom he came up through the ranks at Old Trafford, and Moyes says Beckham only has to give him a call to sort out a loan deal.
“I hope that if David wanted to come he would give me a call. He only needs to call me or Phil Neville.”
Moyes added: “We would have to look into it financially. But if he came and said to me ‘I would like to come and play’ then I would have to go to the chairman and ask if we could make it work by selling enough replica shirts.”

Everton Monitor Uruguayan Winger
Sources in Portugal claim that Everton have sent scouts to monitor the form of Porto winger Cristian Rodriguez.
The Uruguayan – apparently known in his homeland as ‘Cebolla’ or ‘The Onion’ because he reduces his opponents to tears – is under contract at the Portugese side until 2012.
The 25-year-old Rodriguez signed for Porto in 2008 from French side Paris St-Germain but only after he had a spell on loan at arch-rivals Benfica. He made his international debut for Uruguay in 2003 and has made 38 appearances for his country.
Everton have apparently watched the winger in action in both league and Europa League games but would expect to pay around £7 million.
Meanwhile, Everton are hoping Landon Donovan will re-join them for a spell from MLS side LA Galaxy now that his domestic season is over. Donovan had a successful spell at Goodison at the beginning of 2010.
Everton are also looking to rival Sunderland for the loan signing of Spurs midfielder David Bentley. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is ready to offload Bentley for a £1 million loan fee with the prospect of a permanent transfer.

Everton Need Ruthless Streak – Neville
Everton need to develop a “ruthless streak” if they want to move up the Premier League table. So says club captain Phil Neville after the club drew 2-2 at Sunderland in the televised Monday night game.
Everton took an early lead in the game and almost won it with the last kick of the match and the skipper rued the result which left them in 14th place – six places below where they would have been had they won.
“It has been the story of the season so far,” Neville told the club’s official website evertontv.
“We have come off at the end having dominated 70 per cent of the play and not got the three points we deserve.
“We can’t start feeling sorry for ourselves, not in the position we are in. It has happened too many times for it to be just bad luck.”
Despite a shaky start the Toffees sit reasonably comfortably in mid-table but Neville says the team aren’t turning enough draws into victories and he knows where the problem lies.
“We have to be a little bit more ruthless in the final third, maybe shoot a bit more and hopefully we will be up there.
“In the past, and I have played in championship winning teams, you have had to go on runs of 10-15 games of consistently winning games but now it looks like it is coming down to five-to-10 games,” added the skipper in reference to the condensed nature of this season’s league table.
“You can see with the way the league is shaping up that a run of victories will take you right up the table.”
Meanwhile, Everton target Yannick Djalo says he will only leave Sporting Lisbon if the deal is good for the club.
Djalo has been linked with a move away from Portugal and Everton are believed to have approached Sporting about a January transfer, however, the 24-year-old, who is just back from injury, says the club’s wishes are at the forefront of his mind.
“ I can only say that for me the most important thing is Sporting,” he said.
“I’m at a great club that formed me from junior level and I owe it all to them.”

MLS Striker To Train With Everton
Seattle Sounders striker Steve Zakuani is to train with Everton during the MLS off season.
With the MLS season now over the 22-year-old Congolese striker said: “I plan to spend a few days in London visiting old friends and family before going up to Liverpool to train with Everton for a few days.”
Zakuani was brought up in London and joined the Arsenal academy at the age of nine but was released when he was 14. In 2007 he was spotted by the University of Akron whilst at the Independent Football Academy in north London and went to the US to play for the university’s football side, the Akron Zips. He also turned out for USL Premier Development League side the Cleveland Internationals before being drafted in to MLS side Seattle Sounders in 2009.
Since making his debut for Seattle in 2009 he has scored 14 goals in two seasons. He made his international debut for Congo last week coming on for 45 minutes in their match with Mali.

Everton Keep An Eye On Winger Djalo
Everton are keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon winger Yannick Djalo, according to TalkSport.
Reports in the Portugese press suggest that Everton could be in with a bid for the 24-year-old in January and have already been in contact with Sporting about the possibility of Djalo moving to Goodison.
Sporting rate Djalo at around £5 million and there has also been interest in Bundesliga side Cologne and Serie A outfit Genoa.
Meanwhile, David Moyes is said to be interested in Spurs winger Niko Kranjcar who is set to exit White Hart Lane in January. Kranjcar’s father, Montenegro manager Zlatko Kranjcar has confirmed his son’s departure from White Hart Lane in January claiming that his presence on the bench instead of on the pitch “belittles” his son.
Spurs are likely to want around £4 million for Kranjcar and Zlatko claims they have already had two offers, one from Italy and one from another Premier League club.

Inter Linked With Pienaar Bid
Inter Milan are being linked with a move for Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar, according to the Daily Mirror.
The South African has turned down the offer of a new £55,000-a-week contract with the Goodison Park side and is free to leave at the end of the season. However, Everton are keen to cash in on Pienaar and are willing to sell him in the January transfer window.
Boss David Moyes rates Pienaar at £10 million but could only expect half of that if he sells him in January. Pienaar also knows that if he stays at Goodison until the end of the season he will be able to negotiate a better contract with potential suitors. He is able to talk to foreign clubs after 1 January and sign a contract pledging himself to a move on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Spurs have been linked with a move for Pienaar on a number of occasions since the end of last season when it became obvious that the player was looking to move away from Goodison. He had hoped to put himself in the shop window during the World Cup in his homeland but a series of lacklustre performances failed to lead to any offers to Everton and he resigned himself to seeing out the final year of his contract.

Everton News: Neville Hopes Pienaar Will Stay

Follow us on Twitter
Everton skipper Phil Neville hopes Steven Pienaar can be persuaded to stay at Goodison Park. The South African midfielder has stalled on contract negotiations said to be worth £55,000 a week and can speak to other clubs in January but Neville hopes Pienaar will sign a new deal with Everton.
“It would be a massive blow to lose him,” Neville said yesterday,
“He’s such an influential character, but it happened to Joleon Lescott and we didn’t want him to move.
“You can say to Steven every minute of the day that we don’t want him to leave, but at the end of the day it’s his decision. He’s from South Africa, he’s played for Ajax, then Dortmund. Now he’s been to Everton and had the happiest days of his career, I think.
“The club wants him to stay, but there’s not much else we can say. He’s probably weighing up his options now and you just hope for our sake that he signs.
“I wouldn’t want another player delving into it if I was in this situation – it’s between the manager, Steven and the chairman. It is just up to Steven to make the right decision now.”
Inter Milan, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham are all said to be keen on landing the 28-year-old.

Everton Hoping For New Donovan Loan Deal
Everton are hoping to take USA World Cup star Landon Donovan on loan again in January. The American had a successful spell at Goodison last season and manager David Moyes hopes to land his signature again when the transfer window re-opens in the New Year.
However, Everton are expected to face competition for Donovan’s signature from Newcastle United. The 28-year-old is said to be a target for Chris Hughton who is anxious to replace the injured Hatem Ben Arfa. Donovan is said to be keen on a return to the Premier League where he scored twice in 13 games for Everton last season.
Everton Warned Off Eagles
Everton have been told that Burnley winger Chris Eagles is going nowhere. The Toffees have watched Eagles put in a number of fine performances this season but Burnley boss Brian Laws isn’t worried about the attention the 24-year-old is attracting.
“If people are watching him, great,” said Laws. “That means he’s in top form, it means we’re doing ¬something right and we’ll get the benefits from it.”
Eagles signed a new deal during the summer despite interest from Rangers and Laws claims that was the time to worry about him leaving the club.
“He’s signed a new contract; he’s here for the next few years. He’s settled and definitely happy here. You can see that in his performances and in himself. I’m not worried one bit.”

Baines Is £12m Target for Bayern
Everton defender Leighton Baines is rumoured to be a £12 million target for Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga side are said by the Daily Mail to be keen on the England defender as they want to move young full-back Holger Badstuber into a central defensive role.
Moyes Takes Swipe At Heitinga Over Bayern Rumours
Bayern are also said to be keen on Everton central defender John Heitinga, who said this week that he is flattered by the interest and would be interested in joining the German side. However, his boss at Goodison Park David Moyes says Heitinga’s comments may come from the fact that he isn’t in the Everton starting line-up at the moment but Moyes has reminded the Dutch World Cup star of the competition for places.
“I think he now realises there is a big competition for places here,” Moyes said, “and it doesn’t matter if you played in the World Cup final for Holland. If you don’t play well, you don’t get a starting place.”

Everton Linked With £5m Belgian Striker
Everton boss David Moyes is keen on young Belgian striker Jelle Vossen according to today’s Daily Mirror.
The 21-year-old is rated at £5 million by his club side Genk whom he rejoined after spending last season on loan at Cercle Brugge. He hit six goals for Cercle last season though he only managed to start 11 matches.
Vossen made his international debut for Belgium in last summer’s Kirin Cup tournament in Japan and scored his first goal for the national side when he grabbed the opening goal in their 4-4 draw with Austria this week, a match watched by David Moyes.

Everton Will Block Heitinga Move
Everton are looking to block any move by Wolfsburg for defender Johnny Heitinga, according to TalkSport. The radio station suggests that Wolfsburg boss Steve McLaren is keen to take the Dutchman to Germany to plug a leaky defence that has let in 11 goals in their first seven games. But with Joseph Yobo on loan at Fenerbahce, boss David Moyes is keen to hold on to Heitinga, who signed from Atletico Madrid in a £6 million deal last season.

Everton Interested In Pienaar-Krancjar Swap
Everton are prepared to let Steven Pienaar move to Spurs – but only if they can have Niko Krancjar in return.
The Croatian has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane with the arrival of Rafael van der Vaart, something that has not been lost on Everton boss David Moyes as he resigns himself to losing Pienaar for nothing at the end of the season.
However, with Krancjar seemingly in play Moyes could be ready to propose a swap deal during the January transfer window.

Juventus are in contention to sign Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar. The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to talk to foreign clubs from 1 January.
It is thought the Italian giants could well make a bid during the winter transfer window rather than until the summer even though they could sign the South African on a Bosman free transfer at the end of the season.
Spurs are also interested in Pienaar who has yet to sign Everton’s offer of a new deal said to be worth £55,000 a week.

The 18-year-old spent some time at Everton’s Finch Farm complex in June and the club hope to sort out a work permit for the youngster. Abdullayev made his international debut at 16 and David Moyes considers him to be a good future prospect.
The youngster had also been the subject of interest from clubs in Russia and Italy.
