Balotelli’s Milan Meal Leads To Rumours Of Move To San Siro
Mario Balotelli’s spell at Manchester City might not last long if the Daily Mail is to be believed.
The £23-million 20-year-old doesn’t appear to have settled too well in Manchester – at least according to his agent. Mino Raiola was asked if Balotelli was happy in Manchester and replied “so-so.”
Balotelli was at the San Siro stadium in Milan on Sunday to watch AC Milan defeat Inter 1-0 to take over at the top of Serie A, six points ahead of their fierce local rivals. A move to AC Milan from City is a distinct possibility according to the Mail, which quotes Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani, on the Mediaset website – which is owned by Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi – as saying he would love to see Balotelli in a red and black Milan shirt.
After Sunday’s game Galliani and Balotelli dined at the same restaurant though the player insisted this was sheer coincidence.
“Since I left Italy, I am the friend of all the teams. It was nice that Galliani came over to say hello to me,” Balotelli said, while Galliani also played down the coincidence saying “Balotelli is a City player and that’s it,” adding there were no plans to sign the player in January.
Despite playing for Inter prior to joining City, Balotelli was notorious for his support for AC Milan but he retains a deep respect for Mancini, who brought him through the ranks to the Inter first team. However, with Mancini under fire at City Balotelli fears the City boss may not be at the club for too long and it is a fair bet that the youngster will be angling for a move if Mancini departs from Eastlands.
Johnson “Would Consider” Move For More First-Team Football
Meanwhile Adam Johnson is the latest player at City to bemoan the lack of first-team opportunities.
Johnson has been used mainly as a substitute this season by Roberto Mancini but feels he can offer the team much more than a quarter of a game and says he would consider a move to get more first-team football.
“It is still early but I definitely would consider it,” he told The Sun.
“It is disappointing when you are not playing from the start in games like that. I was itching to get on. I was dying to play from the start not just come on.
“The manager has to make decisions but I was gutted to be left out.
He added: “I like attacking, scoring goals and creating goals and pleasing the fans. When I play I just want to excite fans and give them something to watch.”
