Manchester United Transfer Rumours, Saturday 9 October
Manchester United are ready to swoop for Portugese defender Pepe. The Real Madrid centre-half is available on a free transfer at the end of next season but he has urged the Spanish side to sort out his future quickly.
Speaking to Spanish newspaper Marca, Pepe said: When Madrid show they intend to keep me, it would be logical to suggest my first option is them, but we are footballers and when the club does not show an interest, it is obvious I’d have to find a life elsewhere. I have this season and then a year so I have time. If it was up to me, it would have been renewed by now because I love the team and the fans.”
United are said to be monitoring negotiations between the two sides.
